This Recipe Roast Chicken is made with Thermomix! I know, it can be made without thermomix. However, one of my most favourite things to cook in the Thermomix is to steam a whole chicken. Steaming the chicken in the Varoma makes the chicken very moist. The chicken meat tend to dry out on the oven in comparison of when it’s steamed first. The smell of a chicken roasting. can be so exciting!
Ingredients :
- 1 whole chicken (between 1.25 to 2kg)
- 50 grams butter softened
- 2 tbsp of dried italian herbs ot mixed dried herbs of choice
- 1/2 tbsp of mild paprika
- salt, pepper
- 2 lemons cut in half
Instructions for Recipe Roast Chicken :
- Squeeze juice of 1 lemon
- Combine the seasoning, softened butter, italian herbs, paprika, 1 lemon juice and salt and pepper into a small mixing dish.
- Rinse the chicken thoroughly, remove the giblets and pat dry.
- With gloves on, rub the mix onto skin.
- Pour water (boiled preferably) on your Thermomix bowl (the bowl should be 3/4 full with water).
- Add the chicken into the Varoma deep dish and place the four lemon halves (including the ones you have squeezed)
- Place assembled Varoma onto TM lid
- Cook for 60 to 70 minutes on Varoma Temperature Speed 2
- Carefully remove the Varoma lid and piece the thickest part with a skewer to check that the chicken is cooked through
- Remove chicken from Varoma and place in the preheated oven to roast. Cook in oven approximately 20-30 mins.
- Serve with vegetables or rice.
Also, If you are only 1 or 2 people you can use some chicken pieces instead of a whole chicken. For a healthy low carb option, this spiced cauliflower rice makes the perfect side next to this yummy roast chicken.
